Valery Poshtarov was born in Dobrich, North-East Bulgaria in 1986. He studied painting at the National School of Arts "Dobri Hristov" - Varna. In 2005 he moved to Paris where he graduated Plastic Arts at the Sorbonne. This period is related to his cycle "What does not change" and to his vivid interest in the genre of the classical French humanist photography from the middle of the last century. This cycle is presented with exhibitions in Paris, Berlin, Frankfurt, Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna. Author of more than 30 individual and collective exhibitions in Bulgaria, France, Germany, Ireland, Croatia, Serbia, Hungary and Cyprus. His works are part of major collections of different official institutions in the world. In 2011 Valery Poshtarov founded the first on-line art gallery for Bulgarian contemporary art - www.cavalet.bg
